DIY Shower Bombs With Essential Oils

Shower bombs are ideal when taking a hot shower. They will help you relax and will even benefit your health. A eucalyptus shower bomb infused with essential oils is one that we definitely recommend trying.

Creating your own DIY shower bombs with essential oils is a fun and cost-effective way to enjoy them whenever you like. Most wholesale bath bombs suppliers also offer this product. However, these are slightly different to make than regular bath bombs.

What You Will Need to Make Your Eucalyptus Shower Bomb:

1 cup citric acid (located online)
1 cup baking soda (located in retail stores)
1/2 cup of cornstarch (found in retail stores)
1/2 cup of melted coconut oil (also found in retail locations)

-Just a couple of drops of any essential oil of your choice (we recommend a eucalyptus shower bomb, but any oil will do)
-Silicon mold or a cupcake holder for molding will do
-Both small and large mixing bowls

Optional Components for Your Eucalyptus Shower Bomb:

-Food/soap coloring
-Dried flower petels for texture

Follow these Steps for your DIY shower bombs with essential oils:

1. Pour all your dry ingredients into your mixing bowl and mix them all together using your hands or a whisk. If you decided that you want to add color, this is the perfect time to mix it in as well. Only use a few drops.

2. Taking your melted coconut oil, pour it in a smaller bowl and add a couple of drops of the essential oils you've chosen. Using a spoon, slowly mix them together to make sure the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

3. Take your oil mixture and slowly work it into the dry mixture. Don't pour the oil in too fast or the dry mixture will start to clump. Work them slowly with your hands as you add the oil mix until they are thoroughly combined. Even if there are some small clumps, there's nothing to worry about.

4. Take a handful and press them together tightly before packing them into the mold. It is important to press the portions as tight as possible to avoid air pockets that will later cause it to crack. These cracks will make the bombs fall apart when you start to take them out of the mold. Ideally, you want it to continue to stick together even while it fizzes and dissolves in the shower. This factor is imperative if you want to use them in the shower and avoid making a mess at the same time.

5. This part is optional. Now that you've got them packed tightly into your mold, use your knuckles or a spoon to press on a small crater in the middle part of your bombs. That's where you're gonna place your dry flower petals or oatmeal flakes. Press them tightly into the middle of the bomb.
6. Let your eucalyptus shower bomb sit in a cool and dry place to allow it to harden and take the form of your mold. Typically you should allow it to sit for about 24 hours. When you take the bomb out from the mold, if it still feels a bit damp, let it air dry for a couple of hours more.

7. Store your shower bombs in air tight containers (like mason jars) to preserve them. Storing them properly will extend their shelf time that the product looks and feels best.
